Vacation Up North in Michigan!

We are waiting in line to go on the Ferris Wheel at the Cherry Festival in Traverse City, 2010. Anna is wearing her cherry festival dress that her mommy made. She is 3 and 1/2 now, ask her to do the doggy scratch or.....do this with your arm....tickle tickle tickle.
As Jeff, Anna and I started to go up....somewhere close to stopping at the top we decided that maybe we had a small fear of heights and started laughing so Anna wouldn't know.... yet thinking what the heck are we doing up here.

Carrousel with mommy on the pink horse of course.

Cottoncandy! ok now we can go on the train.

Video Walk with Ricky Recardo

My daughters are happy we have a dog to fuss over, takes the pressure off of them. Today I am upset cause Cloyd won't agree to dyeing RR pink (using kool ade packages only) for the Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk Cheering Station in Plymouth tomorrow.

Ricky Recardo and Fancy Lexi the Papillon

Ricky Recardo a Havanese Rescue. Havanese doggies come from Havana Cuba so we named him after the most famous Cuban we knew Ricky Recardo.
Ricky and Popi are best friends. He is not fancy dog like a my friend Lexi the Papillon but he is very special to Mimi and Popi cause he needs special love and attention. Here is a picture of my doggie friend Lexi, she is very fancy and very special to her mom Rita. Rita brings Lexi to work with her every day and because Mimi works in the same building as Rita, Mimi gets to see Lexi often. Mimi calls Lexi "Trixie" cause she is sooooo cute and fancy.

Anna's got the mimi's camera....cause she wanted it.

These are Anna's pictures of Mommy dancing. "Smile mommy"
"smile Kitty!"
"say cheese Mimi" woops
of course she must take pictures of her kitty....
These are Anna's pictures after she danced for me to Little Baby Monkeys. I have such an awesome life!!

Anna and Mimi playing. She loves to sing and dance and talk and tell me what to do. So that is what we did on my visit to Atlanta July 4th weekend 2009. She did get to take pictures after this song which was fun too. (go down to the bottom of the blog and turn off the music to hear her cute sweet voice) She was busy putting on her chap stick but it made the dance more interesting.

So I am figuring out this grandparent thing.....like why we are so crazy for these little kids that we will do anything to make them happy or laugh or not cry or whatever. It's like the same feeling we had when we first fell in love, another trick and blessing from nature that gets us together in the first place returns to make you fall in love all over again with our grandchildren. That loving feeling dims and gets replaces for something else that seems less simple even unsure at times while you are busy building a home and family, and busy does not describe the double and triple scheduling of parenthood these days, My children do not have any reference to taking off into the neighborhood to play, to find your friends, go where life leaded you only to return when you were hungry while mom hung the wash on the line, cleaned the house and planned a meal we all sat down to at 6pm. I miss those times of playing night tag with my brother, soaping windows on halloween, (bar of ivory that mom broke out and split into 4 uneven pieces, dial did not 'soap' as well.) Ok where was I oh yeah, you got that loving feeling back again with grandchildren, focus, focus.....ahhh back again. So there is this great gift we get back and it's real and crazy and fun and it's called being a grandparent. And the parents of these beautiful creatures put up with our wanting to name ourselves, we are Mimi and Popi cause she can say those names and hearing those names drives us crazy (a'gain) .

We'rrrre Baaaack

So forgive me I've been busy and this blog has been neglected for 6 months or more. But that did not stop me from visiting Anna in Atlanta several times, and many others fun things (and some not so fun) anyway....I will try to catch you up. In the mean time look who has a pony now.

Mimi's Visit with Anna at 14 months old

I don't take as good a picture as Sara of this beautiful child but here we are playing outdoors in sunny, 65 degree day in February. Everything, and I mean everything, she does is either thoughtful and her wheels in her head are turning or playful, and she squeals with delight. These pictures are the thoughtful Anna.
